...and the winner is...Grand Magus. This album is a wall. The previous album of Grand Magus (Monument) was great and I guess every Doom fan on this stinkin´ planet listened the hell out of it, but I guess this time it´s a bit different, cause the three dudes of Grand Magus returned with an album which is like the PERFECT fusion of Doom and old school Heavy-Metal. Wolf´s Return combines only the good shit out of these genres and out comes a metallic beast with really sharp teeth. Sometimes the new sound of Grand Magus remind me a bit of the early Manowar mixed with some Obsessed and the good old Wolf. The lyrics of Grand Magus are as always about mythology mixed with personal issues...damn...how I love titles like Kingslayer, Blood Oath or Light Hater. This is an outstanding album for sure and defnetly on this years top 20...it´s Metal in your f**ing face. Get this one...NOW.
