On their second album the swedish DOOM ROCK trio convinces even more than on the selftitled debut. The band is led by JB (vocals and guitars) he is also the lead singer in the more known SPIRITUAL BEGGARS, so far to the facts.
ULVASKALL gets right to it after a short intro. Majestic guitarwork somewhere near the great Zakk, combined with bombastic arrangements and the outstanding mighty, strong voice of JB. On SUMMER SOLSITCE they show their love for seventies HARD ROCK played with an immense drive. BROTHERHOOD OF SLEEP marches on slow and gripping, blessed with a killer main riff and once again JBs great vocals. The DOOM touch is even more present in the following BAPTISED IN FIRE, a track with enough emotions and soul to fill five new albums. Sure some similaritys to the godfathers BLACK SABBATH, can be found here, but in this genre this is definitely no crime. CHOOSER OF THE SLAIN combines DOOM with the feel of seventies HARD ROCK once again with an astonishing outcome, along with the chime of a bell.
FOOD OF THE GODS sounds like a blessing of PURPLE, and HE WHO SEEKS SHALL FIND closes the album with the DOOM hand.
So what needs that album to be perfect? A killer production, do I have to mentioned that it has one.
DOOM freaks must have this one.
